Today, after having recently moved 300 miles to be with my boyfriend of 2 years, I have to celebrate Christmas alone. He never thought our relationship important enough to tell his family about me, and doesn't want it to be "awkward." FML

I've a similar situation except for the length of time and moving to be with mine, I'm afraid my bf hasn't told his family about me either. So yeah, that really sucks.

This is definitely true. Men usually want to show off their girlfriends unless they're cheating or intend on cheating. Probably, in some cases they may just be embarrassed of their girl but that doesn't make things better. There's absolutely no excuse for his actions.

I don't know about that, it may be true but from this FML it seems like they met on-line and the man was probably embarrassed to mention that he had to use on-line dating or he planned to introduce her in person rather than over a computer screen. Don't mistake me though: I'm not defending him - he is definitely an ass for letting OP make such a drastic move only to be stranded for Christmas.

My girlfriend did the same thing to me, this is freaking crazy. She couldn't show me to her family so I sent her a nice little email to her family account just LOADED with vacation pictures.....giggity!
