YDI, be an adult and live on your own. If you live with them they have the right to charge you rent in the form of using your car.
No they don't. I don't know where your from but just because you live at home does not mean your parents have the right to tell you that the car you paid for all by yourself is now a family car.
You're probably the biggest idiot on this site. Period.
This is such an OBVIOUS ploy by the parents to get the OP to move out!!! Things are going to get worse and worse until he does. And if the OP doesn't move out, he deserves everything he gets. And all you douches that say OP should just tell his folks to FhkOff, you've never lived with a pissed off roommate. Anyone that can say 'Your car is now our car, and you still have to pay for it all' is capable of almost anything - leading me to believe the OP has already pissed off the folks pretty bad. We obviously didn't get the whole story.

If my parents did that to me I'd tell them they can either start contributing to gas and maintenance or they can start finding other ways to travel, like a bus, or a bike. They may be your parents but if you paid for that car with your own money, you should still have a say on who can and can't use it, and you shouldn't have to foot the car bills yourself if you aren't the only one using it.
Damn parents. You at least say SOMETHING... but sorry to say it probably won't work...
