Boo ******* hoo, some guy took his own hard earned money and paid for something they care about's health instead of listening to some dumb **** on the internet and giving it to charity. What about people who spend hundreds of thousands more to buy a bigger house, even though they don't really a house that big? Shouldn't they have given their money to charity? What about billionaires who spend their money on playboy bunny slaves? How many little African kids would you save if he gave all his money to charity? Face it you dumb *****, giving your money to charity is an option, stop making it seem like this guy was obligated to do it just because he spent money on his dog. You know what else people do? They spend loads of money buying food for their dogs! And pfft, we ALL know dogs don't need food! They should have spend that money on some poor kids in Africa with AIDS to let them live a few more days even though they're already on death row because no amount of money even in your stupid ******* idealistic bubble could save them all. Grow the **** up.

look, as a dog owner i kwow how attached people can be to their dogs. however, they are not humans. and if your dog has cancer the odds are that it is not going to survive very long. if it's going to cost more than a few thousand dollars, you REALLY should just pull the plug. like i said, dogs aren't humans, and it is not worth shelling out that kind of money just to try and keep it alive for a few months.

I'm sorry, but my cats are worth way more than any human in my life besides that of my family and a few friends. So please, STFU and mind your own business about what people spend their money on. Just because it's a 'dog' or a 'cat' does not make their life any less precious than that of a human. If anything, animals are more precious, especially a beloved pet who does not have the capacity to hate or cause wars or take life, like that of a human.

Ethics of Care FTW. Seriously, those that I have any moral responsibility toward are those close to me, including my cats.

No, an animals life is in no way equal to that of a human. Your a freaking loon. And what does war have to do with anything?! So I guess the hierarchy of life should be: animals-mentally disabled adults (only the ones who can't make war)-plants-people. Okay! I'm glad we cleared that up!

How do you figure an animal's life is worth less than a human's? How do you figure? Can you provide me a true reason why an animal's value is less than a human's that isn't biased towards species or ethnocentric? Doubt it. Put it this way, if I could spend 15k on my cat or you, I'd choose my cat. To be honest, the cat puts a lot less strain on the earth than a human.

Your cat is a barely self-aware being. Everything it does is based on instinct. A human, on the other hand, is conscious and capable of emotion. Saying you'd rather spend money on a cat than an actual human being is incredibly ****** up.

That line of thinking ("animals run on nothing but instinct") is what justified thousands of disgustingly inhumane experiments on animals, including vivisections. I have a hard time believing you've spent any considerable time around animals if you believe they don't have emotions.

really? an animals life is MORE precious than a human's? ok, answer me this then. your mom and your cat are hanging from a cliff, and you can only save one of them...who do you save? that's what i thought

YDI for not valuing money and wasting 15 grand on a dog. Our old cat swallowed a wire and we put her down for 80 bucks rather then spending 2 grand for surgrey. Plus your putting it through a hell of alot of pain.

Dogs don't live as long as humans. You can nearly always expect to outlive your dog unless you're elderly yourself. It's perhaps best not to own one, rather than put it through expensive suffering just because you can't deal with its passing.

wow ppl its just a dog, who cares wut happens to it!!!

I'm sorry you lost your dog, but it is ridiculous to spend that much on an animal. They don't live all that long anyway...

omg u paid 15k to treat your dog wow tht itself is a FML get youself a car at least it will last longer...
