Today, as part of the treatment for my bulimia, my doctor informed me that I will not be allowed to go to the bathroom unsupervised. Meaning there will have to be another person in the bathroom with me at all times. I have a nervous bladder. I couldn't go if I wanted to. FML

Today, despite my fear of using public restrooms, I was forced to anyway to avoid my bladder exploding. I was finally getting over it when someone stuck their head under the stall to "see if someone's in there". I'm scared more now than I was before. FML

Today, I have to get an ultrasound at the hospital. In order to get a clear picture, I need to have a full bladder. I've been waiting my turn for 2 hours now, desperately needing to pee. There are still multiple patients ahead of me. FML

Today, I was admitted to the hospital for chronic constipation. I have to share a room with two other girls who are also having bowel problems. We're all on strong laxatives, and there's apparently only one bathroom in this place. FML

Today, my parents wouldn't stop making fun of my shy bladder by camping out in front of the bathroom door while I’m trying to pee. As a result, I haven’t peed in 10 hours and my bladder is going to explode. FML

Today, I found out that since no other procedures are working, I was required to stop eating, and drink a bunch of foul tasting "goo", which will in turn give me constant diarrhea. This will then prepare me nicely for the long tube with a camera on the end of which will be shoved up my rectum. FML

Today, I used the upstairs bathroom rather than the downstairs one, which was in close earshot of my parents. When I came out, my mom angrily asked why I used that bathroom. I explained to her that I have shy bladder, and she said, "That’s not a real thing. I can go even with someone watching." FML

Today, I realized I can never live with my fiancée. A childhood of systematic teasing, abuse, and humiliation has made me terrified to use a bathroom around a guy if there's the slightest chance I can be heard, seen, or even have anyone know what I'm up to. Therapy has yet to fix anything. FML

Awww! ): I'm so sorry. Maybe suggest a new treatment, since that won't work for you and benefit toward your health. The point is to get help with your eating disorder, not torment you.

I think it's harsh to mark this as a "you deserve it". Bulimia and a nervous bladder (though different in seriousness) are difficult things. Try having to take a drug test with a nervous bladder!

Good for you for getting treatment! Sorry to hear about your upcoming situation but several other people have offered good ideas to hopefully make it easier for you. Just don't do such things to yourself in order to conform to what the most acceptable thing in society is. Be happy of who you are!

FYL, girl. Bulimia is no joke. I suffer from depression and I used to cut myself. When my mother found out, she didn't offer any kind of help- she threatened to throw me out if I did it again and every day for the next few months she would make me get dressed and undressed in front of her so she could check for more cuts. I get that it's not exactly the same thing but it sucks.
