Today, as part of the treatment for my bulimia, my doctor informed me that I will not be allowed to go to the bathroom unsupervised. Meaning there will have to be another person in the bathroom with me at all times. I have a nervous bladder. I couldn't go if I wanted to. FML

Awww! ): I'm so sorry. Maybe suggest a new treatment, since that won't work for you and benefit toward your health. The point is to get help with your eating disorder, not torment you.

The important part is that you get treatment. Without treatment it can even result in death.

Did you tell the doctor? Or your "supervisor"? Chances are that this is a bad idea that's going to make your self-confidence even worse, so it's better to say something now and hopefully get a change of plan.

You have no right to privacy if you are in danger of harming yourself. People are confused with what a "right" is. Some eating disorder hospitals have no doors to bathrooms, others have locked bathrooms only nurses can open.

I know how you feel. I was in the hospital for a week for clinical depression and attempted suicide. I could not go brush my teeth or go to the bathroom without being watched. The guy that was watching over me looked the other way and thankfully gave me some semblance of privacy as long as i kept the door open. But in your case and mine its all to protect us from ourselves. Just be happy your getting help and people around you care enough to go to those lengths. I am sure if you talked to your councilor you can come up with a compromise.

No offense but sounds like an excuse... There is a reason for that and after a while you will get use to it... Prison and military guys get use to using the bathroom when they are told too... Itll happen

"invasion of privacy?". You have no right to privacy if you are in danger of harming yourself. Just like you can be forced into staying or forced into taking meds.
