Today, at 8:00am, I walked into the kitchen and stubbed my toe. That's quite a normal occurrence, but this time, I stubbed it on my drunk, passed out, 53-year-old father's forehead. He's mad at me now and has cancelled my allowance. I'm 23. FML

Shit, wish I still got an allowance. Then again, I haven't lived with my parents since I was nineteen.

From his point of view: "Today, I was sleeping, when my idiot of a nephew decided to walk into me, bruising my forehead. He's 23 and, and I had to cancel his allowance. FML"

23? your allowance should have been cancelled years ago!

There is the possibility that OP is looking for work/studying and may not have time to work and their parents are just assisting them financially until they find a job. Though #19's idea seems plausible too considering how the FML was written.

Yes but if that's the case then canceling the allowance won't do anyone any good. If the op lives at home they're basically living for free anyway.
