I have worked with many dead people and the families of those people before and as someone who has done that I really don't understand how you can be that disrespectful not just to the family but to the person you were referring to. At my work you would have been fired for talking that way.
"Bring out your dead!"
The worst part isn't what you said, it's what you said in front of the relatives. You ought to learn to be more aware of your surroundings.
Wow, very bad timing. I do say YDI, but I'm not going to try to make you feel worse than you already do. Now you'll be better at situational awareness in the future.
"Oh, Mr. Stiffson's family is coming later? I must have misread the schedule. So, shall I bring out [Name]?"
OP, ur an a-hole
Even if the family hadn't been present or in earshot, that was very unprofessional. YDI
I'm guessing always respectful is the motto in a funeral home

You deserve it for not watching your surroundings or saying it in a more polite manner.
Haven't you ever been taught to act profesional in your work area? YDI
