Today, due to the heat, I had a deadly asthma attack. Where was my inhaler? My dad pawned it for beer money. What did my dad do about my attack? Told me to quit being a Drama Queen. I had to go across the street and beg for a ride to the ER from my neighbor. FML

1. Your dad is an idiot. Asthma attacks are real and can kill the same as if you were choked to death. 2. Get out any way you can. Foster care would be better than living with that asshole. 3. FYL... Most developed countries have something like the USA's 911 emergency system. Next time pick up the phone and call an ambulance. They HAVE to come and they HAVE to take you if they can't take care of the problem right there.

I'm glad to see you recovered from your "deadly" asthma attack. I call fake as well. There's no way anyone would pawn an inhaler, nor be dumb enough / have the strength to walk across the street to a neighbors instead of calling 911.

Oh, the idiocy in this FML... I love how you people think that he couldn't go to his neighbor and ask for help. Seriously, do you people even know what asthma does to a person? Also, just because people "can't" pawn inhalers, doesn't mean that people won't pawn them. As said, if you know the right people, anything is possible. And why are you people getting at his face because it was a "deadly" asthma attack? Imagine, you could be attacked by angry and "deadly" bees, and still survive if you get help fast enough. As an asthmatic myself I know how bad they can be. If my dad did that to me. I'd cut him. Again.

I've seen my friend go through a whole day of school having an asthma attack. She didn't have an inhaler at the time because she thought it went away. Before that day, she hadn't had an attack since she was a kid. We wound up calling the paramedics though, and she spent almost a week in the hospital after that... Nevertheless, she still made it through the whole day having the attack. So I can see how the OP might have made it across the street, especially if he knew he'd die if he didn't. And to everyone saying "why didn't he just pick up the phone and call 9-1-1?" Well if his dad is selling his inhaler for money, do you really think they have a home phone?
