Today, during my fourth solo day working as a meter-maid, I had a vehicle towed for being parked in front of a fire hydrant. The vehicle belonged to the governor. I'm scared to even show my face at work next week. FML

It's tough to make calls like that! You made the right choise though because if they make a law for you to inforse it applys to them to! They aren't just ammune to everything because they have some power!

Dont apoligise dont be sorry you were doing your job he was in violation of the law ive known since i was like 5 that you arent allowed to park in front of a fire hydrant and hes way older and probably has a few more years drivinhg expierence than i do you did the right thing

It's not tough to make calls like that. You did the right thing.. He can't do whatever the hell he pleases to do. He has to obey laws like everyone else

why be afraid?! If I got to tow the Governor's car, Id walk into work like a boss...

You shouldn't be scared cause they aren't supposed to get preferential treatment but we all know that they do. Wall in with your head held high as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. And best of luck

I wouldn't feel bad. The law is the law. No one is exempt. If I were him I'd be embarrassed.:)

We are all equal under the law.

They should follow the law too.

You should have started a fire in the adjacent building and observed the chaos and the news stories ensue! "Governor blocks hydrant - millions of dollars of fire damage! Governor resigns."

Don't worry, it just shows you were doing your job properly. I've seen parking security get tickets for improper parking, and cops get pulled over my other cops while speeding. You should walk into work with your head held high.

They aren't above the law! Keep your head held high OP, you did the right thing.
