Today, for April fools I decided to set off the smoke detectors in my friend's apartment while he was sleeping and saran wrap the outside of his bedroom doorway so he would smack into it. Instead, he jumped out the window and broke his leg. FML

to all you people who are calling the guy who jumped out the window stupid you guys are retarded. Your sleeping and you hear your fire alarm go off of course a normal person would panic due to be woken by something that is possibly life threatening.. To the OP your a moron that prank doesn't work unless your on the first floor. P.S. to number 28 candles dont emit enough smoke to activate it, matches don't either unless its right under it, lighting i highly doubt it. Something burning on stove top or microwave both are really dangerous if he was sleeping induced panic

Yeah, seriously. To everyone who's saying it: why the hell would you jump out a window if you hear the smoke detector go off? Actually, ours goes off all the time and it usually just means dinner is ready. Even so, definitely make sure there are flames somewhere in the vicinity.

F both your lives... I can see where he's coming from... Yes, smoke detectors go off for various reasons, like if someone is cooking something; however things like this usually occur when the person is AWAKE, because the person had something to do with it. If my fire alarm went off while I was asleep I'd freak out and assume it was real too. Can't decide if this is an FYL or a YDI. But hey, pretty funny stuff.

I'm a fire fighter, and what you did was illegal by blocking a fire exit and falsely setting off smoke detectors. If your friend was a dick, he could have pressed charges, The other residents could have herd those fire detectors and thought there was a fire. BUT, It his also his fault for jumping out of a window.
