Today, for April fools I decided to set off the smoke detectors in my friend's apartment while he was sleeping and saran wrap the outside of his bedroom doorway so he would smack into it. Instead, he jumped out the window and broke his leg. FML

Today, a coworker and I pulled a April Fools' prank on our boss. She "borrowed" his keys and rolled down his window. I took a car window from a scrap yard and sprinkled it on the ground near his door. His response was to kick the nearest object in anger. The nearest object happened to be my car. FML

Today, my roommate played a "prank" on me. He taped a length of clear cellophane at ankle-height just outside my bedroom door, causing me to trip and faceplant the floor, and busting out a tooth. I now look like a hick, and my roommate is refusing to cover my dental bills. FML

The friend is an idiot. Yes you're supposed to take fire seriously, but you're also not supposed to panic. Didn't any of you have fire drills in high school? Did you run out the door screaming every month when they had a drill. No, you stayed calm. There was no smoke in the room. It wasn't any hotter than ambient temperature. The friend should not have jumped out the window. In my dorm some idiot pulls the fire alarm at least once a semester. Imagine if half the dorm jumped out the window everytime. You take it serious by leaving the building, but you don't panic.
