Well first of all, caffeine and a sleeping pill doesn't mean someone is going to turn into a drug addict. Plenty of people mix the two and don't have drug problems. It may not be that healthy, but she could be doing worse. Second, the term "raising" tells me that she is still young enough for you to have some kind of authority over. In which case I would like to know why you just don't make a rule about no pop after a certain time and how she managed to get sleeping pills without your permission? Ydi for not setting up rules, the fact that you don't say no soda after ___pm is probably the only reason she's ever needed a sleeping pill.
So tell me again how an over the counter sleeping pill is a drug problem? Not like she said dont worry mom ill balance it out with crack! Sounds like she was trying to make you laugh and your over reacting. Also caffeine does not affect all people that way. It can make some people sleepy fyi.
Sounds like you're overreacting... Worse case scenario (ignoring all other factors) is that later on -when she might actually need sleeping pills for insomnia, pain, etc.- they won't affect her as much. Big whoop. Sleeping pills also usually make you feel really groggy the next morning so if it was me I'd just take the hit to time spent asleep, but it's her that's going to be feeling it. Let her learn this lesson on her own.
I don't think she will be a drug addict in the future. To me, it sounds like she wants to make you laugh..
wow that escalated quickly....
Gotta get in the business somehow raising a future bath salt user
If you're the one raising her, shouldn't you be doing something about if? Other than complaining on FML?
talk to her, get that shit sorted out ASAP!

Hence the word "Raising" Meaning, you should still be able to teach her and help her understand.
So what you're saying is.. *puts on sunglasses* That's not the only Coke in her future. ...that was terrible, I know.
