Today, I told my mom that I want to try out for a singing competition on TV, so I might be able to kick off my musical career. She convinced me to sing a song for her, so I did. Mid-way through, she lost it, burst into laughter, and told me to stay in school. FML

Today, I auditioned for a part in a play. I've been practicing for months, and was very excited. After I'd finished singing, the director whispered something to the other judges, and they all laughed. Hard. So much for the lead role. FML

Today, I tried out for cheerleading. The judges, two head cheerleaders, sized me up, burst out laughing and made fat jokes towards me. I fought back and called them, "twiggy fucking sluts." At that moment, the coach walked in and saw and reported me to the principal. The judges got off scott free. FML

Playing dance-dance revolution or rock band on your Xbox 360 does not make you a dancer or a musician; it just means you have coordination enough to press buttons when prompted. Many people think they have talent, and don't. Unless you have actual dance training or have won local or regional contests, don't bother trying to go on a national TV dance show.

Reality TV exists only because idiots can't stop watching other idiots make complete asses of themselves. I never understood the draw, myself. For me, I'd rather my 15 minutes of fame involve something way less awkward and embarrassing--like something involving a shit load of crumpled kleenexes and a book of crime-scene photos.
