Today, I asked my mother if we could test me for OCD, since so many people have suggested to me that I might have it. She smiles at me and says, "No, honey, you're just really really weird." FML

I dunno, I don't think this really counts as an FYL or a YDI. It's just kinda like a.. I'm sorry? I mean, my mom calls me weird all the time. So what?

Uhh, my mom calls me weird too...? It's not really a bad thing. OP is too sensitive.

..er, from what I know, you can't get 'tested' for OCD. You can see a psych if you know that you have anxiety issues, but there's no such test. It can take months of visiting a psychologist or psychiatrist for them to say 'oh, you have OCD'. Well, for me it did. =/ I have been diagnosed with mild aspergers, and have always been OCD about different things. At the moment the thing that gets to me is hygiene. Though, like #103, I'm funny about locks. My rabbit/guinea pig hutch has a lock that just turns, so I always worry that the wind will move it. It has never opened, but that doesn't stop me. And it sounds pathetic, but I will start crying and getting frustrated if somebody sneezes around my food. NOT FUN. Oh, not to mention my social anxiety which prevents me from going to school and living a normal life. It sounds more like you want it, to perhaps make you unique or special? =/ I don't know, but it gets to me. As #103 suggests, you should KNOW if you have it, and so you don't need it to be official.

112- you actually can be tested. It asks your fears, why the may days you to obsess and you anxiety levels. It's a scale thing. I would know if you know what I mean;]

I have mild OCD which is so annoying, I hate it. I check my alarm godknows how many times a night to make sure it's the right time and then have to give it to my boyfriend to ask him to make sure the time's right. And when I'm off out, I check my bag to make sure I have everything about 5 times before I leave, then just after I've locked the door, as I'm walking to the bus stop, while I'm waiting at the bus stop, just before I get on the bus, as I'm on the bus.. You get the picture..

OCD is awful, but having a few strange behaviors isn't the same thing. When it comes to a point of it controlling your life, then there's something going on. Friends also like to put dramatic names to simple things, because they simply don't understand it. I'm OCD about numbers, patterns, how everything has to be arranged by size, how often I wash my hands, brush my teeth, and how clean things/people are. It's pretty awful sometimes.

Are you serious. You obviously have no idea at all what mental illnesses are like. Go read up on some of them. It's not a ******* choice or anything that person can control. And personally, I'd rather be dead than live with extreme OCD. When it gets bad enough, you can't do anything else. But then maybe I shouldn't take someone who doesn't know how to conjugate, seriously.

and this is a fml how? your not weird you are unique
