Today, I asked my mother if we could test me for OCD, since so many people have suggested to me that I might have it. She smiles at me and says, "No, honey, you're just really really weird." FML

I dunno, I don't think this really counts as an FYL or a YDI. It's just kinda like a.. I'm sorry? I mean, my mom calls me weird all the time. So what?

Uhh, my mom calls me weird too...? It's not really a bad thing. OP is too sensitive.

LOL, you don't really deserve it. We joke around about my friend being bipolar all the time, she took a Facebook quiz, "What mental illness are you?" and that's what she got. It just seemed accurate because she has MAJOR mood swings. Anyway, F your mom's life if you actually DID have OCD. When I was 10 I was showing lots of symptoms of it and my parents thought I was weird too.

OP, if it is not hindering your life, why get tested? Why go off of your friends' suggestions? Everyone has their little quirky behaviors, and some more than others. Bottom line is that if you can live without help, then why do you need to go to the doctor to label yourself as having a problem? I have my quirks... I freak out when different foods touch, and the radio volume has to be on an interval of five at all times, but it doesn't keep me from living, so why do I need to have someone give me another issue to put on my list? My roommate used to tell me all the time to go get tested for ADD because it would take me a long time to do homework, but why? I got it done, and Made the Dean's List. All unmedicated. People just go out looking for a definition of their problems these days, it's upsetting. And just as a note, I am not belittling the severity of the real conditions, debilitating conditions. They do exist, but people today too often attribute their lack of motivation to ADD and their little quirks to OCD and it's often unnecessary.

haha i think my roommate wrote this. sad panda indeed. if this is you, you know i've had OCD for the past 17 years, and i think if we combine our powers together for good and not evil, we can have a hell of a time! (and a really clean room)

I do the same things with my food and the volume, only with my food I almost always have to eat it 1 thing at a time-like first all my chicken, then all my fries, etc. Also with my books in my backpack everything has to be in there based on the size and on my shelf everything has its place by size and author. Plus my color-coded folders b/c each class has a certain color-like science is green and I had a green pen that I used to take my science notes and if it ran out I would copy my notes on a separate page and then recopy them in the correct spot later when I had a new green pen. But none of that is stuff that keeps me from functioning. I had a friend who was medicated for OCD and she was only allowed to have 2 different colored pens for example b/c in her Latin book she would do all of the conjugations in the margins and had a different color for either each tense or subject, I forget which now...

You don't have OCD because if your "symptoms"(yeah right) were that bad then school professionals would look into it. It's so annoying, everyone between the ages of 12 and 20 thinks they have OCD or ADD or ADHD. No, you're not special, sorry. You have no excuse, so stfu.

wow, you're retarded. Not really, don't go claiming that you are. YOU DO NOT HAVE TOURETTE'S OR OCD. Yes, it's called Tourettes, not terret, which you'd know if you had it (you don't). Stupid teens and preteens think Tourette's is just random bouts of swearing but in actuality 99% of Tourette's cases have NO shouting, just major twitching. Everyone nowadays needs to stop self-diagnosing. They just want excuses for why they aren't the best, or they want to feel special. Seriously, we're all people, we all have problems, not just you, so get the **** over it.
