"So did I too"? Ah well. Ah ha ha. I laughed at your problem as well, but then I realized that I am in the same predicament. :/
when i read those college money fml from the us, i'm so happy to live in belgium, where it's a lot less expensive to study and where the government support is a lot more human.
The same here (France ^^), I'm happy not to have to worry about how to afford my studies, so I can focus on the said studies... I don't understand why it's considered as normal that students should live precariously ! It's like they've chosen to be "a burden" on the society because they rather study "useless" things etc. So many clichés... Students just want to gain both intellectual development and a good, interesting and useful job, and so they can gain if they are given the possibility to do so ! Hum well I won't write an essay lol But just like you I sometimes feel very happy to live in a country where studies are actually affordable...
Gee, thanks, way to rub it in. :/ Believe me, it's not for fault of wanting to travel across the ocean for the chance at inexpensive quality education, its lack of funds! I do wish I was born in Europe and had the Citizenship.
Parents owe their kids a college education. My parents provided for me, and I've been saving for my daughter since the day she was born. In 21st century America, turning a kid loose on the world with just a high-school education is setting them up for a very limited future. Sure, there are some people who make it with little formal education, but the odds favor those with college degrees. If you are not prepared to send a kid all the way through college, keep you dick wrapped and don't bother parenting.
What about families who have kids and then can't afford college due to a sudden job loss or other unexpected financial setback through no fault of their own? Kind of unfair to suggest that these people aren't good parents...
Back in my day if you wanted a college fund you had to earn it yourself. Perhaps if you applied yourself you could get a scholarship. Either that or get a job now and start saving. At least you have 2 years to prepare.
I'm thinking this fml is either from the UK or Australia. We don't call it Uni here, we call it 'college'. Even if they're going to a university they say either 'i do go to college' or 'i go to __ university' or 'i go to a university'... never uni... yes, that lesson may have been unimportant, but oh well :) England is having an awful time w/ tuition & they're more socialists than US. Socialism is fine if you have dreams of being a farmer... or living the equivalent to one. yay for mediocre goals!
completely ignore the top part... I was writing that to someone else & pasted it & responded to yours on the second part. only the 2nd part is for you, sorry
In Canada, especially in Quebec, residents have a cheaper university fee, the reason being...socialism is at work! Yay taxes! That's why in the states it costs and arm and a leg to get a decent education.
Well welcome to the real world I am 20 gran in the hole. Get a job or student loans.
My mom could never afford it but I'm going to college on grants and scholarships. Good luck OP
ydi for being a selfish brat... get some college loans and pay for it like an adult...

in australia hardly anyones parents pays for uni, everyone gets loans then pays it back after they graduate when they start working
get a loan and prepare for debt like everyone else
