So that means you've done like four years at college right? Did you not go near cadavers at any time there? Is this an American thing? I had first year Nursing friends who had access to dead bodies. Or am I reading this entirely wrong and it's your first year at college? In which case, change majors. The American college system is scary and foreign to me.
At least where I am at, the students have to complete a Bachelors degree in a related field, like biology, before going to medical school. While I believe that nursing students don’t have to have completed a Bachelors degree first. If it’s the same way where OP is at, then its quite possible that they had gone through several years of collage without seeing a dead body.
I know my medical friends all worked on cadavers before they ever saw a live operation forget participated in one.
Well I lived through 2girls 1cup without throwing up and some doctors think its worse then surgery lol.
Don't give up OP! You should consider hypnotherapy, that might help.
Either switch to different medical branch, or get used to it. I doubt anybody likes sight of somebody's guts the first time they see it.
That's the spirit! One surgery where you lose your shit, and you're ready to give it all up! That's the PERFECT attitude to have. Go into psychiatry or neurology then. You'll never see another drop of blood. That's a perfect solution. Unfortunately there's no solution for your ridiculous give-up attitude.
Knew you'd have something to put in here. Was surprised to see you on page 2.
Exactly Doc. I.didn't know you wrote that, but I basically wrote the same thing below, so don't think I copied you. But I completely agree! It sounds like OP just wanted a way out and that was the only way (also most ridiculous). Irs pathetic how people are. Man when something like that tries to stop me, I get even more pissed and overcome it. No one has any determination anymore. They just back down. -_-
you'll get used to it. a massive potion of the med students and interns that pass through the theatres I work in faint at least once. I've even fainted a few times. the world doesn't end.
I don't understand how you didn't know this before enrolling into college. Sorry OP, but YDI.

I have a fear of that happening when I train to be a vet. I can't stand blood but apparently I'll get used of it...
You could always try different medical fields if you have trouble operating on people. I could never do it, that's for sure, so good job on the effort
