Today, I borrowed my dad's laptop to type an essay. While I was saving it, I noticed some curious looking files and I opened them. They were rejection letters from all the colleges I had applied to. My dad had been forging them so he wouldn't have to pay for my tuition bills. FML

Asshole, he should of told you he couldn't afford them so you had time to get a job and to apply for some scholarships. Sorry that your dad is a coward and a selfish bastard (assuming he didn't just lost his job) but then he wouldn't have enough time to forge them. pre-meditated bastardness.

dick move! does he not want you to go to school and be successful?

i love the trolls. and obviously they don't give a **** about upsetting people, so all the people trying to be smart and clever by pointing out how they're clearly trolls are idiots... who cares?

Don't worry about it, eventually it'll be up to you to decide if you want to pay for him to stay in a nursing home, keep him on the ventilator, etc...

I think the OP should stick with the community college (if that is what they're doing now) get the gen eds done the cheap way. Then transfer to the expensive university and finish there. It actually does save a lot of money. Financial aide is always an option too! I get it cuz my family is poor :D If I were you I would bitch slap your dad sooooo hard! **** that! No one should ever miss out on life in a university and the dorms are always awesome!

wow that is really messed up. that was totally the wrong way to handle the situation. FYL

If he can't afford the tuition he should just tell you, not fake rejection letters. You can always apply for financial aid and student loans. Don't let him stop you from getting a good education.

I don't get it. Why would he be expected to pay for *your* education?

It's not expected, but he doesn't wants to admit he's not planning on paying for it, so instead of telling their kid to work or get loans, they took the asshole way out by using fraud instead.

Right -- but why should he have to explain that he, as the father, is not paying? Is the submitter a spoiled, entitled brat or something? Dad should not have to say a word -- as his paying should not be expected.

#89 - Are you a ******* idiot? Most parents pay for their kids' education. It's a reasonable expectation from society. Parents who can't afford it may feel uncomfortable admitting so. While it's perfectly okay to pay for your own education, don't you dare rag on people whose parents actually care enough to put away money for them! Ever heard of class envy? You've got a bad case of it.
