There was a house in my parents' Neighborhood that sat vacant for 4yrs until it finally sold. The owner died, and a contractor hired to paint the interior had a heart attack and died while painting. Nobody wanted the house after that despite the price being lowered to real cheap. One buyer moved in and literally abandoned it about 5 mos later.

Yes, but if its bigger and nicer, the price will be brought up by other buyers and probably cost more than what your about to put into your house, so don't be too downed about it
