Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. After three long weeks of him ignoring me and cancelling out on time we were supposed to spend with each other. He looked at me with the most confused look on his face. Then he says ''Are you serious? I was planning the perfect day to ask you to marry me'' FML

Ouch... how long were you together? Please tell me you didn't proceed with the breakup

I hope you work things out!!!!! This is the type of thing that would happen to me.

I think you're pretty much all wrong. Give him at least the chance to prove his story is true, and allow him to propose. Also allow him to apologise, which doubtless he will. There's no denying he made a mistake, but it could be argued that you too made a mistake by not raising it earlier. That's not to say that the offences are equal, but that he deserves a chance. He won't be making the same mistake again, and his intentions were (allegedly) good. You know in your heart his personality, and you will have a gut feeling as to whether you can believe him. Trust it.

That was either the lamest excuse or (what would have been) the most badass proposal in the history of time.

If you dumped him for ignoring you like that, your relationship wasn't serious enought for marriage. How long have you been together? #20: great comment!

WTF that was his fault he's a ******* idiot... ignoring you for 3 weeks? He deserved that

r u really thinking about the effect it would have had, it was kinda stupid though

Haha I totally see him wanting to break up with you as well, but he wants you to feel bad about it. Props for him!

get back together with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you break up with him after just 3 weeks of being ignored, you obviously don't like him that much.

Sorry - if it makes you feel better, almost the EXACT same thing happened to me today too...but hey, something should work out..at least that's what i keep hoping.

Clearly they BOTH don't know how to communicate.

Hey! I can feel your pain. My fiance and I, we are both in college and very active on campus, such as going to meetings and etc. One weekend I was gone due to a leadership conferance that I was help hosting, my fiance called me the day before the kick off and I was pissed because like you, I haven't talked to mine in 3 weeks. It was a growing experiance for the both of us! If you ever, ever need help during this time just send me an email: [email protected] I've been there, I've done it and No woman should go through that!
