Today, I came home in tears over finding out my boyfriend has been cheating on me. I told my seemingly sympathetic dad everything. His advice was to lure them both to our house with the promise of a three-way, after which he'd "kill the shit" out of them. Real mature, dad. FML

Today, I came home in tears after my boyfriend admitted to cheating on me. My dad told me to sit down and tell him everything. He's pretty eccentric, so I wasn't fazed when he put on a pair of sunglasses. When I stopped talking, I noticed his mouth was slightly agape and he was snoring. FML

There is no way your dad can actually fix this for you. He can't undo your ex cheating on you and he can't wave a magic wand and make you instantly better. I imagine he feels pretty helpless right now. What he *can* do though is try to make you laugh and show he's behind you 100% - because offering to kill the shit out of people to protect you is definitely a sign of love. I feel a bit sad for your dad that he obviously tried his best to cheer you up and here you are posting on the internet about it as if he's the worst dad in the world because he didn't say exactly what you wanted.

Op I don't understand why that isn't an option. A little homicide is good for a broken heart, especially if you are killing your cheating ex. I say go for it and good luck with the disposal of the evidence.
