Mrs Crabby cakes it's not " weird anime crap" it's technically a form of art. Maybe the girl will grow up to be a great manga artist. Instead try this new concept encourage your students, even if it's outside your comfort zone on traditional art. Oh and talk with her parents she's obviously got anger issues.

I've had crappy teachers, but no one would ever use such judgmental and juvenile words against a pupil. I'm guessing OP isn't really "Mrs. Teacher", but "Miss Student" trying to get as many YDI as possible just to get a little personal revenge upon a teacher she doesn't like.

66- I'd like to inform you that every mangaka (the guy who draws the pretty pictures) has his or her own style. Sure, they take things they like in others' drawing and put them in their own, but that doesn't make it copying. However, I know they look the same to you because you obviously aren't a fan, and I am not writing this to hate on you.

Hey 66, here's a little lesson for you. The style of art used by mangaka was invented in the post WW2 era by a people who were recovering both socially an economically from the US occupation of Japan. It's got a rich history and it is one of the newest styles of cartoon to be invented.

Maybe teachers shouldn't collect notes students will pass or fail based on their own effort I never took notes and got a good gpa so what's it matter

It's a teachers job to do everything they can to make students pass a class and actually learn, not just present information and say "you're on your own now". Requiring notes ensures that students are using multiple parts of their brains to process and retain what they ate being taught. Whether someone likes taking notes or not, by requiring students to take them and taking the time to make sure they do, the teacher is doing their job as an educator. For parents, and students who care about their education, that can only be considered a good thing.

I don't see the problem. When I graded papers, I always was happy to get the ones that obviously belonged on one end of the scale or the other. F or A+ were the easiest grades to give. Freak this girl out and give her an A+, telling her that stands for "Awful, plus a trip to detention."
