90% of my notebooks in school had little doodles all over the margins. Some of my tears actually were quite amused with the drawings they would get with my work, some was even fairly detailed, was I didn't mind, until I never got it back
What of she does do her work but she isn't interested in the class? Maybe the teachers a dick. Who knows not every teacher is Polly perfect.
It would be hilarious if the OP taught at an art school.
Respect has to be earned. You're not going to get much with an attitude that doesn't take into consideration an individuals' tastes and styles. Those three words "weird anime crap" shows just how narrow minded you are. And if people read it properly, you'll see the teacher said the kid was always drawing it in her sketchbook, but turned in one bit of paper with the words on. Admittedly, lack of respect on the students part, but this is all one-sided. The teacher might have pushed her too far with their criticism.
Typing "weird anime crap" won't make you too popular around here.
You're clearly both at points where there is little to no respect for each other. If you want her respect, either change the way you teach to help her out or become more respectful of the fact that anime is different only because it isn't part of your American society. That's not fair to her or anyone else and is a rather narrow minded way of thinking, wouldn't you agree?
When I was in school I was drawing in every class, and I still managed to skip two grades. Unlike you, my teachers understood that I was able to work on my art and still get high marks. Perhaps you should re-evaluate your career choice, because it doesn't seem you have the patience or consideration required to teach.
whoa now. wat do u mean "weird anime crap"? also, that girl is my hero.
I don't see how a teacher saying "weird anime crap" in an FML, with absolutely no indication that she has said this to the student's face, deserves to have a disrespectful student write, "**** YOUR CLASS" on a piece of paper being handed in to the teacher. It's really quite cockamamie, in my opinion. I don't see how a person's personal opinions of something deserves incredibly rude opinions from a student. OP, bring this to the attention of the principal and get this student punished.

As much as a teacher shouldn't be doing this, it makes perfect blackmail!
Mrs Crabby cakes it's not " weird anime crap" it's technically a form of art. Maybe the girl will grow up to be a great manga artist. Instead try this new concept encourage your students, even if it's outside your comfort zone on traditional art. Oh and talk with her parents she's obviously got anger issues.
