Today, I confronted my friend about the £260 he owes me. He got offended and said, "Friends don't have to pay back." He called me selfish and walked off. FML

When you get your money back I wouldn't talk to that "friend" again if I were you, OP.

Be careful who you loan money too... Some friends may seem sincere, but there are many selfish people out there. Still hope your friend decides to do the right thing OP!

my friends know that they have to pay back unless I say that I will cover it. it's more out of respect in my opinion. but good luck getting your money from that "friend" of yours OP

I have 2 rules when it comes to loaning money. 1. Don't loan more than you can afford to write of as a loss. 2. If someone doesn't pay you back, cut them out of your life. That isn't a friend, its a leach

Neither a borrower nor a lender be <- real advice yo

Let sometime pass and borrow money from him but borrow little more than what he owes you to avoid suspicion and never pay him back if he comes at you to repay him just do what he did.

He's an asshole but rule one of loaning money is don't loan money you can't do without.

friends who do not pay back are no longer friends

That is exactly why I never ever lend out money. It can ruin a great friendship. Good luck in getting your money back. Actions like that show you who your real friends are.
