Today, I cut my finger at work while chopping some vegetables. I grabbed the nearest rag I could to stop the bleeding and put it on the cut. I didn't know the rag had just been used to clean up a lemon juice spill. FML

ugh! sounds like what happened to me. i cut my finger open in cooking class and accidently spilled acid on it in biology.

anyone that thinks this is something to "suck it up and grow a pair" needs to go have that done to themselves. and to add to that depending on what vegetables they were (aka peppers) it can make the pain 10 times worse

I do that on purpose... just cuz it's stingy I also do it with hand sanatizer

Hand sanitizer is usually alcohol based...What people don't know is it works on evaporation, the alcohol and water in the sanitizer breaks up the germs and replaces it with a hydrogen molecule (or was it water...) so it stays broken apart. If it doesn't evaporate (eg, you just put it in a moist cut) then it just stings for no reason and doesn't kill germs. And at the OP...so you had no idea where that rag had been and you slap it on your open wound. I'm afraid lemon stinging is the least of your worries. The rag was probably breeding more germs than a toilet. Either use a clean tissue or just hold it so you don't drip everywhere and find a tap with water to flush it out next time
