are you blonde? because that could make the blue come out green..
When it comes to colours like blue, you have to bleach your hair in order to achieve the colour you want. I suggest you go to a professional hairstylist the next time you attempt a colour like that. I would not trust the ones you can buy and do it at home yourself.
Sorry OP, but if you didn't know what you were doing, you should have learned more about dying your hair. YDI.
Sorry your hair isn't the color you wanted it to be, but as far as your hands and bathroom are concerned - you deserved it. Hair dye isn't some magical product that only dyes one thing. Wear gloves next time.
First of all, not all hair dyes come with gloves, especially colors like blue which are usually purchased at places like Hot Topic or Sally. Second, OP probably isn't very experienced at dying since she didn't know to bleach her hair first and, therefore, was likely unaware she needed an applicator of some type. OP, colors like blue are usually water based and temporary. A little soap and water will get it off most surfaces.
You must explain.
I've dyed my hair myself a lot of times and for anyone having a go at OP for not wearing gloves and getting dye all over the bathroom, just stop. I wear gloves every time I dye my hair and at some point still manage to get the dye on my hands and nails during the process. Also, no matter how careful I am, the dye ends up on my bathroom sink and sometimes other areas of the bathroom. I've had friends and family do my hair too and it's been no different. Although I've never gone blue, hopefully the dye is easy to get off your bathroom like it was for mine OP. It absolutely sucks when things get stained especially when you can't get the stain off! Good luck for next time.
the clear gloves are semi permeable I learned that the hard way too that's why I always have a box of the black nitrile gloves and my sink feels your pain it's red pink purple blue black and I think there's a spot or two of turquoise it wears them like badges of honor (at least until I get off my lazy ass and get to scrubbin with some clorox baking soda and a toothbrush does wonders for hair stains fyi or leave an oxyclean and clorox paste mix on it for a while)
