Actually, when some dope does something cruel or stupid and suffers for it for our amusement, it's pretty magnanimous of them to share it here. It's part of the site's entertainment value. They probably aren't expecting sympathy. Or there's the tiniest chance they're just making the story up to provide entertainment, but there's not much way to tell in a case like this.
