Today, I expressed my feelings to a guy I've liked for a long time. He basically turned me down because I have the same name as his mom, and dating me would be too weird. FML

Is his mom's name something extremely generic like "Jenny"? And who actually calls their mom by their first name? It seems like an excuse.

I call both my parents by their first names. My dad since I was like 8 and my mom since I was like 10. People always think it's weird, but I don't see the big deal. I could never date someone with the same name as my dad though. It would be ugh I think.

For some it really doesn't matter they know that a persons name doesn't connect them to other people...both my uncle and cousin are with women with the same name as their sister.

I can't date guys who are bald or shave their head bald because it would remind me of my bald dad, which would be totally weird and awkward!

My dad is also bald and I feel the same way! Although if my bf lost his hair years down the line, I wouldn't dump him or anything of course.
