Unless you're referring to taking it up the rear, the ripping of skin/membranes (the hymen in this case, if that wasn't clear) is typically painful. So unless it is broken before a girls' first time, it's likely going to hurt her.

Your hymen isn't supposed to rip, that's a complete myth. The hymen doesn't completely cover the vaginal opening, it is meant to stretch. Which can be uncomfortable, but ripping happens because of going too fast and not using enough lube. It is in no way how sex is supposed to happen the first time, and the fact that this belief is so widespread makes me sad.

That's why you shouldn't build up your idea of what your first time will be like. My first time wasn't too much different. Though I will say my guy at least had the common sense to not try and reuse the condom.
