Be more careful in the future :)
Why the heck did you have to stab him in the leg?
I guess OP had to give him an adrenaline shot or something similar.
An EpiPen. It's something called an autoinjector, so it's basically a shot that instead of having to suction medicine up and slowly inject medicine, you jab it in the side of your leg and the needle automatically injects medicine (you can look up a picture). The medicine in an EpiPen is epinephrine which is the drug/artificial form of adrenaline. It stops severe allergic reactions temporarily, so the person can get to a hospital for proper care.
That's crazy
Wow. FHL.. I had a boyfriend for over 4 years with a severe peanut allergy. I cut out all peanut products from my daily life and adjusted to his lifestyle. You can't risk it. It can stay in your saliva for at least a few hours. You have to treat it as if it is your own allergy unless you want to kill him. Check labels, ask waiters.. even checks the labels on your shampoo, and lotions, etc. I understand you probably weren't expecting him to come over, but you definitely need to be more cautious since his life is at risk. I'm sure this is a huge learning experience for you now, though. Look on the bright side, OP. You didn't hesitate when he was in need and helped him through it. :)
Nothing says the boyfriends allergy is severe, or that the reaction was actually life-threatening. As far as I know (and the instructions of the epi pen agree) an epi pen can be used just for an allergic reaction, it doesn't have to be prophylactic shock or life-thretening. You shouldn't assume the worst.
You've got a good point, but from my research on the allergy, you definitely should assume the worst. Doing a simple search online, you'll learn that a peanut allergy is recognized as one of the most severe food allergies due to its prevalence, persistency and potential severity of allergic reaction. And every single time there is a reaction, the next one gets even worse.
I seriously hope that guy treated you like a goddess! I've got anaphylactic allergies to a few things... like the world lol. Plus an arrythmia which goes crazy if I am given epinephrine. So I don't really want to have to take it if at all possible. I gave my now husband a crash course on stuff to look for... like reading labels on foods, drinks, lotions, shampoo, etc. Hes awesome at checking stuff. And finally gets why I can't go to restaurants that cook with nut oil. But seriously don't think I could have dated someone for very long if they werent on board with all that. Anyway, on behalf of everyone with anaphylactic allergies, thank you for not killing us :)
95- it sounds like it's pretty severe based on the fact that just kissing him some time after eating nuts set off a reaction. That would have only been a tiny trace of nuts, so if his allergy was mild to moderate he probably wouldn't have reacted badly enough, if at all, to need an epipen.
#99 Thank you for the compliments. :) I'm terribly sorry to hear about your allergy.. and arrhythmia as well? That's got to be even more scary. You're totally right. Definitely cannot be with someone that isn't willing to adjust when there are serious consequences at stake. He had an ex that would cook everything with peanut oil. Poor guy was scared to be around her. That didn't last very long. He really did treat me amazingly! Unfortunately he had to move out of state. It is great that your husband is adjusting nicely. I give my best to the both of you. :)
You should've stabbed him in the heart. A life without Nutella is not worth living.
Epinephrine to the heart isn't actually deadly. It's the drug they give to patients whose hearts have stopped beating (along with cpr and defibrillator). It is dangerous though considering your heart could then beat to fast and you go into V-tach.
Hopefully he's doing well now. Sorry that had to happen OP!
this sounds like a perfect way to kill someone.
People are being so hard on OP. Yes it sucks she almost killed her boyfriend but she didn't do it on purpose. I'm sure you and your boyfriend will be able to look back on it and laugh.

Had this happen to me. Not fun at all. Hope he's okay and don't feel too bad, you forgot. It happens occasionally
