In the poster's defense, I don't know any of my coworkers' last names and many have common names.
Why not ask first or read the name?
Your boss probably thinks you hate him and did it on purpose, but YDI.
Erm,... Name on card? Moron.
I think the store policy should change to something like holding onto the card for 24 hours or a week to give owner a chance to claim it.
I only destroy cards if directed to by the issuing institution.
Pretty sure you're not supposed to just cut up cards. I am fairly certain theres a number on the back you can call to find the card holder. Or you know, report it missing. And why not read the name? Like just to be sure? Don't stores have intercoms you can call over to ask of soandso is in the store

Didn't you recognize your bosses name on the card...?
The name on the card should have given it away that it was your bosses card. If the name was the same as an employee then you should ask if it's theirs or not before playing Edward Scissorhands.
