Today, I found a credit card at my job. As store policy goes, we have to cut up lost cards immediately after finding them to protect the cardholders. As I grab the scissors and cut, my manager calls out, "Has anyone seen my credit card?" FML

Didn't you recognize your bosses name on the card...?

The name on the card should have given it away that it was your bosses card. If the name was the same as an employee then you should ask if it's theirs or not before playing Edward Scissorhands.

lol, ydi. read the name on the card befire cut cut

Your manager shouldn't have left his card laying around, especially if that's the store's policy! Yeah, I guess you should have read the name on the card, OP, but it's more your manager's fault than yours!

You didn't look at the name first? I always look at the name first to make sure it's not someone I know. So... YDI.

DON'T SAY A WORD YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you not read the name on the card? You deserve FML!!!

You didn't just so happen to read the name on the card? Dumbass.

Ouch, well. It's likely that the OP's manager has a pretty common name, but you should have at least informed someone whether it be and employee or a manager that you were cutting up a lost card. Personally I haven't heard of this policy though I think I understand it, I work in a bar and if we find any missing valuables we immediately lock them upstairs in a safe and wait for the customer to come to us (which usually happens the day after we find something). Just keep your head down destroy the evidence and deny everything...............

I agree with all these people saying you should have looked at the name on the card. it's kinda nosy but it happens to be super necessary. pick it up, look at the names, if it's not the name of a coworker thennnn cut it up.
