Ydi for not talking to your daughter about it sooner
Is your name Margaret White, and is your daughter's name Carrie? How old is she? A lot of girls are getting their periods at younger ages now, some as young as nine or ten. So she probably should have gotten a talk about that. Not necessarily the sex talk yet, but at least the period talk. And usually schools have some video they show girls at certain ages explaining that as well.
Perhaps you should have "the talk" with her?
Maybe you should have told her about the changes her body would go through as she grows up.
I got mine before my 3 year older sister did and I forgot for minute what was going on, but my mom talked to us about it when I was 5 or 6. ydi for not talking to her about it! it's a natural part of her growing up and she had a right to know and not think she was dying or something!

um, maybe you shouldve taught her about her about her body?
**** your daughters life. I'm a guy and I can't imagine bleeding out in my genital area and not knowing what the ***** going on just imagine all the things that could be going through her head. I'd do more than cry. You should have taught her about periods atleast. I can't blame you though because she might still be young and you couldn't have known that it would come so soon
