Today, I found out that I was not adopted and in fact my parents are my biological parents. How did I find out? Over dinner. How long have I been believing I was adopted? 22 years. Why did I start believing I was adopted? My siblings thought it would be a funny joke. My mom played along. FML

damn my brothers n sisters you to say that shit when i was lil.. then i grew up and they started to notice that im the only one in the family thats not only has the looks but some brains too.. come to think of it maybe i was adopted..

Haha same here :0 except I told my older brother he was adopted

I'm with some of the other people who commented, saying that maybe the mom played along once (by that I mean she probably responded sarcastically and the OP didn't pick up on that) and then just forgot about it. I can't see any parent actually going along with the joke for years, but that's just me. A lot of siblings trick one another into believing that one is adopted. My mom did it to her little sister/my youngest aunt for years, and she believed it.

haha we had my sister convinced of that till she was 12

Am I the only person wondering what difference it makes either way?

It's not exactly a picnic not knowing who gave birth to you or where you came from. If they believed that for 22 years... that's one hell of an emotional mind ****.

Somewhere in the world is the most gullible person EVER, and you have just read his FML.

oh boo hoo you're adopted. big deal. you're probably the stupidest person on earth or the most gullible. tell me, did you not read your birth cert? durrrrrrr besides I think someone in your condition should just assume that the lady that has changed your drool bib and diapers all those years is your mom

The solution for this FML is simple. Wait until your siblings and mother are not around one another (when they're all at work, for example) and then call each of them and tell them that the others are dead. Imagine the hilarity that will ensue! I can already hear the After-school Special theme music when the lesson is taught about loving and respecting your family.

So, you're saying you'd have rather found out when your parents were on their death bed or something?

You fail at assuming *Jams finger into USB slot looking for lost peanut*

That's pretty funny. I don't think it's a fml tho. Get over it.
