Today, I found out that just because my roommate doesn't buy alcohol, it doesn't mean she isn't stealing mine and slowly replacing it with water. That bottle cost me $150 and was destined to be a present for my best friend, whom I haven't seen in years. FML

Get your roommate to pay you back then, OP. Or you may want to get them some serious drinking help...

A nice bottle of wine or really good alcohol.

better be one big ass bottle.

Imported alcohol usually, and top shelf brands. Mostly though expensive alcohol is aged, sometime 20+ years.

I've got an unopened bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label that I bought in 2002 that cost me $200 at the time. It goes for closer to $275 now. I purchased it for a specific reason that fell through, so I'm waiting for it to come around again before I open it.

You guys need a serious talk on boundaries. That's a huge pet peeve of mine. DO NOT TOUCH MY STUFF.

Tell her you put de-naturized alcohol in it after she drinks another bottle.

where exactly did she say that her roommate drinks Ops alcohol?

Op wasn't exactly being subtle with her directed sarcasm.

set a revenge trap. fill empty bottles with pee

yeah i agree with you. when i find bottles lying around filled with yellow nastiness that smells foul, my first instinct is to drink it

Yep, time to get a new roommate and ask for $150...make sure they're not forgeries

cos turning water into wine is so 2000 years ago lol anyways you need to have a talk with your roommate OP

Hide all of the rest of your valuables! Actually if I was you I would just move or tell her to.

Make her buy you a new bottle and kick her out.

Water is hydrating and healthier. But yes your room mate is a thief. Maybe you should take some money out of her purse and replace it with Monopoly money ? And see how she likes that?!!!!!

So long as OP keeps the money to potentially give back to her. Even though the roommate deserves it, something tells me this revenge could backfire on OP and get her in some legal trouble. Which would definitely make replacing that 150 dollar bottle a lot harder to do than it already appears to be.
