Today, I found out that just because my roommate doesn't buy alcohol, it doesn't mean she isn't stealing mine and slowly replacing it with water. That bottle cost me $150 and was destined to be a present for my best friend, whom I haven't seen in years. FML

Today, I found out my last roommate had been stacking her empty wine bottles under the sink for the last 5 months. The cleaning lady who found them now thinks I'm an alcoholic, and threatened to report me to my landlord. FML

Today, I found out my friends replaced the water in my bottle with vodka when all my fish died. Any water I don't finish the night before, I pour into my tank the next morning. Thousands of dollars and years hard work, gone. FML

What I am curious about is how the roommate thought OP wouldn't notice that the seal on the bottle was broken. Since it was intended as a gift I am assuming OP never opened the bottle.

Given that OP paid $150 for the bottle, i'd hazard a guess that it's very well aged, whatever it is and probably not clear unless it is vodka.

This reminds me of when the booze in my house was slowly going down and with 5 people in the house it was hard to narrow down. One night we (boyfriend and I) were drinking with one of them who said they could handle the amount and ended up really sick and hung over for two days. Needless to say, our booze never disappeared again.
