Today, I found out that my 50-year-old Father is the 'Sugar Daddy' to a 20-year-old. He wasted my college funds on her, which I have been dutifully saving for ever since I was 10. FML

In the US, anything under 18 would be statutory rape.

Who saves money? I just let the government/taxpayers take care of my education... Thank you Pell Grant.

Unfortunately, some of us have to save money, or work our asses off for scholarships. Some of us don't qualify for Pell Grants because our parents make too much money, and yet still can help only minimally with our college education largely because huge portions of their salaries go to taxes, to fund your Pell Grants.

And your Pell Grants are the reason that the cost of college has tripled in the last two decades, a cost born largely by the middle class who can neither qualify for the grants nor can afford the sticker price of college. Thanks, #25!!!

@chimmy - So you don't think that those intelligent enough to go to uni to do a proper degree shouldn't get the financial aid? (I speak as someone who's not entirely certain what the Pell Grant is, but assumes it's the same as a maintanence grant in the UK). I can understand not wanting to give grants to everyone who's applying to uni because some of the things you can get degrees in now are just...no, go and do a proper subject or get a job. But to not give anyone financial help? That seems a little harsh, there are some people who truely can't afford it but are intelligent enough to go, or could do with just a little help. @thatssomeBS - being arrogant enough to assume that the government should pay for all your university fees is just annoying, and somewhat stupid. You never know, they might not want to. But I know there are people who always know that they will rely largely upon the government, but in my general experience they tend to save things as they know that they might need to stretch money. Saving something is always a good idea, even if it's not just for uni.
