I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume OPs daughter is fairly young. either that or I'm retarded and there is some odd parenting going on here.
Like those things you order from domionoes? They're awesome ! *sarcasm*
Tell her that having nightmares from watching horror shows isn't worth it because though it seems important now, in 20 years she'll just see it as a stupid episode of her life where she watched horror shows (yes, one of the genres for Supernatural and X Files is HORROR even if some people aren't scared by them) to try to fit in with people she probably won't even be talking to in 5 years time. Showing her true colours and being accepted by people who actually care is better than trying to fit in and being rejected by the people who never will care.
What!? Supernatural is cool at her school!? I wanna go there!!!
would you rather she watched "jersey shore" and "mob wives" to fit in? at least your daughter's friends have good taste in television, and those shows probably won't be detrimental to your daughter's character or intelligence. both "supernatural" and "the x-files" are extremely intelligent and relevant shows. what i'd recommend is that you watch them with your daughter. it's a great bonding opportunity and she would probably appreciate the company when the scary parts come on.
My thoughts, too! I'd love to watch X-Files with my daughter when she's older. I'll take the nightmares over her being obsessed with something like Glee.
well, glee's not so bad, really. i only watch it sporadically, and it's horrendously camp, but harmless. unlike jersey shore and big brother, which glamorize and encourage willful ignorance and bad manners. but yeah, at least she's getting into good television, anyway. this OP needs to chill the beans.

I don't blame her for watching Supernatural. Jensen Ackles is HOT.
At least you didn't catch her listening to One Direction and Justin Bieber, and reading Twilight. That's the ultimate level of brain-dead.
