Today, I found out that my daughter has been watching Supernatural and The X-Files so she'll fit in better at school. I'm not even angry that she's suddenly a brain-dead conformist, it's just that she now has nightmares all the time and insists on sleeping in my bed. She's a kicker. FML

Supernatural is amazing! How she's getting nightmares from it is understandable, my cousin is younger and fears it. I for one am old enough to not get freaked by it, I love it! I've been watching since season one!

Those shows aren't what the popular people are watching and X-Files has been canceled for several years. More likely, her group of friends recommended them to her. That's a fairly small bit of conformity to a small group of friends, not really mindless conformity. I'm sure everyone's taken their friend's recommendations on something. Also, both those shows have decent plots and writing that require at least some mental attention. Now, if she suddenly starts liking Twilight or Justin Beiber because her friends like him, you actually have a problem with her being a mindless conformist.
