having a life and friends is a good reason
Not really. It's high school. All you have to do to get a 4.0 is pretty much to attend class and not crap your pants. Hell, sometimes it doesn't even take that much. 2/3 of my 'high school' classes were at the local state college, for college credit (no, not AP or CLEP, actual college credit) and I didn't even have to show up any other time than test days. High school is a cakewalk.
Please tell me you're trolling. Your high school is not the only high school around. I go to a high school ranked yearly in the Top 100 High Schools in the US, and I have a 5.21 GPA out of 6.0 as a sophomore (standard is out of 4.0, honors out of 5.0, AP out of 6.0), and I'm not even close to being ranked first. And I KNOW my high school is definitely not the toughest out there. So maybe other schools have higher standards than yours.
How old are you like 50? In case you haven't noticed, high school has gotten extremely difficult recently, depending on the school. I am extremely smart, I have gotten straight A's all my life. But this year with APs and Honors is so intense that the whole school and I are really struggling. This generation has gotten extremely competitive, so why in the world do you think high school is easy? Not to be harsh, I just hate when people think high school is some cake walk when I'm working my ass of every damn day.
For all of you who ClAIM to have a high GPA, do you happen to play an instrument and did you get asked to join a prestigious orchestra? So shut the he'll up
@ 63, different schools use different systems. I know of a school that it was possible to get above a 4.0. For this same school, you could get A+ as a grade. Whereas my college, the highest GPA was a 4.0 and the highest grade was an A.
Wow, that sucks. **** her.
Plexico, did you just rob Susan Boyle's appearance? (I laughed when I read your comment lol :P)
4.07 :)
Hey that really sucks and I'm sorry. I play bass too and I'm in high school so I'm very sorry. What orchestra was it?
That totally sucks! You should call them back and see if they'll still take you. If not, you could rub it in your mom's and the orchestra's faces by getting accepted into a different orchestra.
You should go have sex with as many people as you possibly can. Actually, even if your mom hadn't f'd your life, you probably still should've done that.
not from china, korea or india (but somewhere around there lol) but (on 4.0 scale) 3.7 is not really good. in my society, that is. a 3.85 or so is 'ok' but with a warning sign. 3.9 is 'quite safe'. 3. 95 is 'pretty good'. i just found out 3.7 is okay by reading the comments. o.O cool, i guess. o.o

Judging by your name, I assume you play the bass. That makes this suck even more because the standup bass is an amazing instrument that takes a ton if talent and finesse to play well, especially well enough to be invited into a prestigious orchestra. I hope that you insisted on still playing with them! FYL indeed, I'd be both angry and sad in that situation.
FYL. Just... FYL. We should probably have a category for "meddling parents" ._. what's up with that, really?
