Today, I got a raise. A 10 cent raise. I have worked at my job for over 3 years. I now make 20 cents more an hour than people that have only worked there 3 minutes. FML

same boat here. I've been at my job for two and a half years and I'm being paid fifteen cents more than the ridiculously incompetent employees my manager engaged since we couldn't find anybody else. I had to fight twice for this raise because everytime I had a raise, minimum wage would increase and my boss would conveniently forget to adjust my raise. That, plus all the psychological harassment (my boss doesn't like me because he doesn't find me attractive enough to want to have sex with me) make me quit in one week! OP, I don't care if times are though, starting again at the minimum wage at another job is better than working for a bad employer.. find a job that respects its employees!

at least you're getting a raise, a lot of ppl are getting laid off!

My job is same way. My boss payed me under min wage for a while then i told he and got min for one pay check and then i was back under min again hate life

just because someone is overweight doesn't mean they aren't better then the dumb skinny bitch

Maybe not, but it does mean they're less well suited for the profession fudrick had in mind.

OMG!!! This happened to me too. Do you work at a movie theater because when I worked there they only gave between 5-25 cent raises every year!

eh luckily my job gives % raises every year. How much depends on your performance as an employee. Every year i received 3% (out of a max of 4%) and make over $9/hr finally. Sadly due to the economy they changed the max percent for the next fiscal year to be a max of 2%. But i only work per diem (only summer and january while im home from school) so i cant complain.

The unfortunate reality is that you will be paid the lower of what you will accept and what they would have to pay someone to replace you. Look for another job... maybe look at going back to school?

You get a better raise than we do at Gamestop! We go through an evaluation every year and ONLY get an 8 cent raise if we kiss enough ass for it with our manager. If you don't kiss enough ass, you don't get a raise. Also, if you get a raise, that means you get a promotion with it. Kiss your free time and days off good-bye because you're immediately a manager, which means you have to open the shop, set up the tills, clean up, set up any games that didn't get processed the previous nights, and so on.

I was at my job for close to 25 years, and in that time, my total raises amounted to about $1.25, and it was a multi-million dollar company too. I guess that's why the rich get richer. They sh** all over their hard-working employees.
