Today, I got back from a service trip to Kenya, where I had no running water or electricity. I encouraged my friends to go green and help raise awareness by conserving as much electricity as possible. I return home to find that all my lights have been on for 2 weeks. FML

while i do believe that we should be conserving energy and other resources its not because of the "go green" movement. thats actually been proven to not be very necessary, scientists are now saying the whole going green thing is useless. but whats annoying is if youre one of the self-righteous pricks who thinks that because they go green they are a thousand times better than anyone else. the only reason why this is a YDI is because when you were home, how the **** did you manage to leave ALL of your lights on? if you want to support some cause, good for you. BUT then you need to not pull an Al Gore here.

you got what you deserved, you preachy self-righteous douchebag. Don't go around telling other people what to do. Keep doing things like going to Africa, but don't go around telling other people to come with you.

Well, at least your bill won't have much change this month either. Since during the 2 weeks you were gone, you were also using electricity of 2 wees.

Really, #38? You don't think there are parts of Kenya (or other countries, for that matter) that don't have electricity and/or running water? Ever been there? If the OP had gone on vacation, that would be one thing, but he/she said it was a SERVICE trip, meaning it was likely to an impoverished area, i.e. one likely to be without those amenities.

Are you all that stupid? He said it was a mistake and perhaps he didn't realize the importance of going green until his time in Kenya. And @ aero who said "I'll go green when you pay my bills"... GOING GREEN SAVES ELECTRICITY BILLS YOU ******* RETARD Everyone who clicked YDI, go jump off a cliff and die.

Also, to everyone who's saying that #30 misunderstood/is stupid - I thought it was pretty obvious (especially since they put "go green" in quotes) that they were making fun of the OP by essentially saying that if the OP thought that leaving lights on for two weeks straight was going green then they'd be happy to do the same if someone else were paying the bill. Sarcasm, people.

I agree with #35 (assuming it's sarcastic :-P)
