Today, I got fired from my dream job. I found out today that the girl who trained me lied and taught me how to do things wrong, so that when she got back from maternity leave, she could get me fired and take her job back. My new coworkers were in on her plan from the beginning. FML

Today, I lost my job to the individual I just finished training. Within 2 hours after being escorted out, my old boss called and yelled at me for doing a lousy job. He was angry that the training was deficient and because the new person is as bad as I was. FML

Today, my boss called me into her office to tell me I needed to mind my own business and not question everything my newest co-worker does. Yesterday, I stopped the new girl from giving $6,000 to the wrong person. I was fired on the spot. The new girl was promoted into my job. FML

Today, I was let go at work. About 2 years ago, we had hired an eager-to-learn "assistant" for me. When they canned me, they let me know that I should've trained him faster so I could've been fired sooner. FML

I was thinking this too. If she comes back to work after 6 months (in the UK) they have to give her the job back and OP would just be maternity cover (temporary). If she comes back after that time then they can't guarantee her original position but have to offer her an alternative.

That doesn't make any sense, when you go on maternity leave you are guaranteed your job back or if your position no longer exists you are given a similar job with equal pay and benefits.

I'm surprised no boss corrected you when they saw you were doing it wrong. Unless the boss was in on it too. In this case they should have told you it was a temporary position in the first place and not done this to you.
