Today, I got fired from my dream job. I found out today that the girl who trained me lied and taught me how to do things wrong, so that when she got back from maternity leave, she could get me fired and take her job back. My new coworkers were in on her plan from the beginning. FML

What a vile bitch. Gather as much evidence as possible and take this shit straight to the higher ups.

This surpasses shitty, it's vicious. I agree with #2, gather evidence and sue them for workplace sabotage, those scum deserve the worst punishment they can get.

Most company handbooks have a clause in there to protect you from things like that. Go through your copy, get a lawyer. See what your options are.

She's entitled to get her job back when she returns from mat leave anyway. This doesn't make sense

I'm curious, but what kind of evidence could OP get that would really be passable with the higher ups? I'm sure it won't be easy, as no one is gonna admit anything easily.

She will get her just desserts. They all will. What a nasty group of people. I hope you find a better job real soon

You should have some ground to gain back...I mean if everyone knew it seems like someone would rat her out

I realized this about 4 weeks into the position and brought it up to my direct manager. I have no proof other than my notes I took when she trained me. The girl who trained me has been there for 8years and everyone is in love with her. HR is also her best friend and does not believe me. The CFO is her close family friend. I was told "it's just not working out". When I was gathering my belongings I heard her and my coworkers whispering about it in the office next to mine. That's how I really learned about exactly what happened.

So you're the OP? Sucks that no one believed you. HR is supposed to protect the company, not help pull crap like this. All you can really do is write a review warning others of this company and tell your family and friends to not bother with them. They acted like the vindictive high schoolers from TV, not adults. Not professional in the slightest.

Yea I'm OP, I'm just processing all of it still. I've never been fired before. Not a great feeling. And I'm still trying to get experience in my field and this job was supposed to be my starting point. Doesn't look great getting fired only after 2 months. BLEKH!

It's sad that the maternity leave in the US is so bad that a new mother feels she has to do this to keep her job. Most companies offer no paid leave and not all have to fallow FMLA
