Sorry I really think that was really sweet!! He was trying to celebrate you becoming a woman! I remember when my mom asked my Dad to go to the store for pads/ tampons for me, & when he asked what kind I needed, I told him I didn't need anything like that, I was so embarrassed !!! He then explained to me that he'd been helping my Mom with such things for almost 20 years , so not to feel awkward about it! After it was put to me like that I realized that I didn't need to feel bad at all!! My Mom & Dad were a great source of support during my bad PMS days !!!

Don't worry, my Mum told my Dad - very loudly, and told me that in some countries they have massive celebrations when this happens........ :P But sweet that they care :)

I didn't think it was healthy for 17 year olds to start their period so late. Damn.

When my mom had started hers my grandma baked her a cake and threw a party for her. Every time I hear that story I ask if it was a strawberry cake.
