well you were drunk. You totally didn't know what you were saying or doing. Your bf can't get angry at the person you become while intoxicated, it's a given you're gonna do something stupid. And the whole "drunk thoughts are sober thoughts" phrase is so cliche.

By that logic, 43, you could excuse drunk driving. After all, the driver isn't in complete control of themselves when they decide to start driving.

I hate the old excuse of "...but I was drunk!" Alcohol doesn't make you do anything you don't really want to. It just takes away the barriers that normally keep you from acting on the impulses. Cheating, confessing love, taking home a stranger from the bar, getting into fights, etc are not excusable by being drunk. You still aren't over your ex.

Poor BF! Did he stick around? I probably would have left… I'd hate it if my BF confessed his love for an ex, drunk or sober, there is no excuse YDI for getting a new BF when u obviously have feelings for your ex
