Wit is going to get you nowhere in life if you don't have an education to back it up. Your teacher was just doing her job. Perhaps detention was a little harsh, but if you had done your job and studied there wouldn't have been a problem.

@97. You idiot. The stages of photosynthesis are not 'basic knowledge'. I just finished a drawing of the cycles for biology revision, and I had to squash it to fit an A3 page. The first stage would I suppose depend on whether the electron is following cyclic or non-cyclic photophosphorylation.
