Today, I was going to ask this girl I love to homecoming. I set up a scavenger hunt, and my friend led her through it. At the end of the scavenger hunt I had a note that said, "Homecoming?" She said yes and hugged my friend. When I told her it was me who was asking, she laughed and said no. FML

I think you might have blown it on this one, he probably liked her too. I don't think he was trying to be a dick or **** your shit up. He had probably been planning to ask her out too, and when you told him your plan he was thinking something along the lines of, "Oh shit, I better ask her out now before I lose my chance." So he did, and she said yes. You should have known he liked her if he was a close friend. Next time don't show your plans to the enemy, and I know he's your friend, but if you are both after the same girl, he is an enemy in that sense.
