I would use this experience as a conversation starter. 'You want to know why I'm on this bus?' 'That bus driver right there totaled my car!' See what happens. It could help diffuse the awkward in the air.
or make the driver feel like poo and the passengers feel unsafe to ride the bus.
unless someone dies or gets seriously hurt, most bus companies won't remove a driver.
Be a good person and accept his apology. Holding a grudge won't get you to happiness.

He was a man about it though. Didn't hide, took the blame and owned it. If it was a sincere apology accept it. That shit happens all the time but most people usually run from it or assign blame elsewhere.
