I started masturbating when I was a kid, too. No-one gave me any ideas, I never saw anyone doing anything sexual, it just felt good. It's normal for kids to do that, and of course they don't know that they shouldn't do it in public, so parents have to tell them. I never did it in public, but my father once almost caught me doing it, and after that I always made sure I was alone when doing it.
